Winery history Château Cana

The estate, originally established as Clos de Cana and relaunched as Château Cana, was founded and led by Fadi Gerges with the aim of revitalizing abandoned lands of Mount Lebanon after the civil war. It has been a family-run operation since the early 2000s and, from 2018, the third generation has played a central role in the brand’s communications and relaunch.

Production philosophy

The winery favors a small-scale production approach and minimal cellar intervention, with hand-harvested grapes. It focuses on supporting the local economy, promoting craftsmanship, and showcasing Lebanese winemaking abroad.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in Ras El Harf, within the municipality of Bhamdoun in the Lamartine Valley of Mount Lebanon, the winery sits on mountainous terrain with wooded slopes and is relatively close to Beirut.

Awards and recognitions

Reviews and recognition in wine publications: for example, Falstaff awarded 93 points to the Jardin Secret 2013; the estate has also been included in wine directories and wine tourism guides.
