Winery history Château Moulin Caresse

Family-owned estate with documented origins dating back to 1749; the estate’s modern management has passed through several generations and, after the stewardship of Jean‑François and Sylvie Deffarge, is now carried on by their sons Benjamin and Quentin. In recent decades the estate has reorganized the vineyard and expanded the range of cuvées on the market.

Production philosophy

Focused on enhancing the local territory and vineyard quality: agricultural practices aimed at respecting biodiversity and producing wines expressive of the terroir. In recent years the domaine has begun conversion to organic farming to reduce its environmental impact.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards located on the heights of Montravel, on sloping clay-limestone soils and on a plateau of boulbène. The vineyards as a whole overlook the Dordogne valley and benefit from exposures favorable to ripening.

Awards and recognitions

Documented awards for individual cuvées.
