Winery history Laurent Cognard & Co

The Cognard family originates from the Mâconnais. Laurent acquired his first vineyards in 1997 and became a full-time winemaker in 2006. The estate later moved into the premises of Château de Buxy, where a cellar and tasting room were created to support the estate’s development.

Production philosophy

Production focused on freshness and balance: protecting grape quality, soil cultivation by hoeing to encourage deeper root systems, reduced phytosanitary treatments with a shift toward the Terra Vitis/HVE standard, and aging in larger-format barrels to showcase the minerality of the whites.

Terroir and vineyards

They operate in the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais, with vineyards distributed across various climats of the Burgundy region.
