Winery history Schäfer-Fröhlich

The Fröhlich family has been growing vines in the Nahe for over two centuries. The estate is based in Bockenau and is now run by Tim Fröhlich. It has been a member of the VDP since 2001 and owns vineyards on highly regarded sites in the central Nahe.

Production philosophy

Bottling the expression of each terroir: rigorous selection of grapes in the vineyard, gentle vinification and spontaneous fermentations for the great Rieslings, with the aim of elegance, finesse and clarity of origin.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in Bockenau in the Nahe wine region. Vineyards planted on rocky soils with volcanic and schistose components; the estate owns parcels in notable LAGEN®, including monopole parcels such as Stromberg and Felseneck.
