Winery history Tenute Tozzi

Tenute Tozzi began as a family project, recounted by owner Virginia Lo Rizzo; the first harvest mentioned on the website is September 2017. The company operates across two estates: Terra dei Gessi and Tenuta Vinca, continuing local agricultural traditions while offering a contemporary interpretation of the territory.

Production philosophy

Oriented toward respect for the land and the enhancement of distinct local identities, the estate places emphasis on practices attentive to natural rhythms, on the quality of the grapes, and on the relationship between people, place and product.

Terroir and vineyards

Terra dei Gessi in Casola Valsenio is located along the Vena del Gesso, with vineyards at around 500 m altitude on a natural amphitheatre that creates a favorable microclimate. The Sicilian vineyards lie on the northern slopes of Etna, on volcanic soils characterized by minerality and marked temperature fluctuations.

Awards and recognitions

Press ratings: for example, Falstaff awarded scores to I Turrizzi wines in the vintages consulted.
