Winery history Terra di Seta

The property is part of the Le Macie estate, managed by the Pellegrini–Della Seta family. The estate has been run organically since 2001; the modern winery was built in the 2000s and the first vintage released under the Terra di Seta label dates from the early 2000s. The family combines local tradition with direct management of the vineyard and winemaking.

Production philosophy

The estate focuses on organic viticulture, biodiversity conservation and sustainable practices. At the same time it maintains production according to the strict standards of kosher certification, making the entire production suitable for observant consumers.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in Vagliagli, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the estate sits on hills at approximately 500 m elevation; the soils are predominantly Macigno, Galestro and Alberese, with vineyards facing southeast to southwest, which promote temperature variations beneficial to the ripening of Sangiovese.
