The distillery was founded when Christian Drouin (senior) bought a farm in Gonneville-sur-Honfleur in 1960 to produce high-quality Calvados. As the business grew, production was moved (1991–1992) to another 17th-century farmhouse in Coudray-Rabut, near Pont-l'Évêque. Over time Maison Drouin has developed a range that includes young and vintage-dated bottlings as well as 'experimental' lines with particular aging and finishing, while retaining family management and the use of traditional high-stem orchards in the Pays d'Auge.
