The story
The project began as an initiative of the Gutiérrez family and was developed at the historic Hacienda Dolores near Durango City. Over time production has focused on promoting local agaves (particularly Agave durangensis, known as Cenizo) and marketing labels under the Lágrimas de Dolores brand.
Production philosophy
To promote local agave varieties and traditional production techniques, combining respect for the territory with plant replanting practices to ensure sustainability and continuity of raw materials.

Production method
Cooking of the piñas in underground ovens/pits, fermentation in wooden (pine) vats with natural yeasts, and double distillation in copper and steel stills. Joven expressions are generally unaged; there are also Añejo versions with barrel ageing.
