On the palate it is taut and well balanced, with noticeable but fine tannins and a freshness that supports the flavor structure; medium‑full body and good density make the drinking experience solid without feeling heavy. The progression is linear, with a persistence that invites a pause before another sip.

At the table it rewards with structured meat dishes, braises, roasts or aged cheeses; it is also a good candidate for decanting a few hours beforehand to soften the more pronounced edges. Served around 16-18°C, it shows a balance between immediacy and aging potential, leaving on the palate a memory of plum and forest floor that returns after each sip. An honest Barolo, made for those who appreciate elegance and character.

Winery history
The Borgogno family has been producing wine at Cannubi since the late 19th century. Today the estate is a family-run operation with multiple generations involved in vineyard cultivation and winemaking, preserving traditional practices that showcase the vineyards of the Cru Cannubi.
Production philosophy
Vineyard-centered approach: hand harvesting, separate vinifications for each vineyard when possible, fermentations in large wooden vats and ageing in Slavonian oak barrels to preserve the identity of the terroir and of each vintage.
