Description

The Riesling Kaefferkopf Grand Cru from Domaine Meyer-Fonné is a superb expression of one of Alsace's most renowned terroirs. Situated in the prestigious Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, this wine reflects the uniqueness of its terroir, offering an intensely complex aromatic bouquet. On the nose, vibrant notes of white-fleshed fruits, such as peach and green apple, stand out, enriched by hints of wildflowers and subtle mineral accents. On the palate, the wine reveals an elegant and well-balanced structure, with a crisp acidity that harmoniously integrates with a slight residual sweetness, typical of high-quality Rieslings. Winery history

Family-run for several generations, the Meyer family has been present in Katzenthal since the 18th century. The estate was established by Félix Meyer, and management has remained within the family, with successive generations modernizing the estate and developing exports and direct sales.

Production philosophy

The estate aims to faithfully express the character of each individual terroir through parcel-by-parcel management, minimal pest control, differentiated soil-management practices and careful winemaking that highlights fermentations with indigenous yeasts and ageing on the fine lees.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyard extends over a variety of soil types and exposures around Katzenthal and in six neighboring communes. The estate also owns parcels in renowned Grands Crus such as Wineck‑Schlossberg, Kaefferkopf, Sporen, Schoenenbourg, Furstentum and Mandelberg.
