Amaro Rupes becomes Gold in a special edition that adds an aging in oak barriques to the usual and successful recipe of the most famous Calabrian Amaro. An artisan product that embodies all the flavors of its land, such as the very fragrant wild fennel, the special Calabrian licorice and the balsamic bay leaves which, in addition to the other botanicals (30 ingredients), tell the taste and flavors of yesteryear .
It shows a deep amber color with bronzed reflections while very typical aromas of medicinal herbs and bergamot rise to the nose, with particular hints of ginger chocolate and licorice, as well as fresh balsamic notes. It offers the palate a full and rich sip, with a typical bittering, very long and persistent herbaceous note.
An aromatic liqueur of dense consistency, excellent to be consumed straight after a meal and ideal for creating exquisite cocktails.

Distillation
For gin: long maceration of botanicals in alcohol and subsequent redistillation (batch still) in the case of some expressions; for grappa: distillation in small bain-marie stills. For amari the prevailing techniques are cold maceration, infusions and percolation.
Ageing
Maturation in oak barrique for some editions (e.g. Rupes Gold); the Hiberna grappas are aged in oak casks (24–36 months depending on the label).
