Pairing Red meat, game, aged cheeses
Baia al Vento Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2022 from Folonari, offered in magnum format and packaged in a wooden case under the Campo al Mare designation, presents itself as a red wine with a Mediterranean profile. In the glass it shows an intense ruby red color; on the nose there are notes of ripe red fruit, light spice hints and touches of Mediterranean scrub, with an elegant and restrained aromatic profile. The olfactory structure is balanced and invites a measured first approach.

On the palate it is structured and harmonious, with well-integrated tannins and a lively acidity that supports the sip to a pleasant persistence. No grape composition or aging details are stated on the label; the tasting characteristics suggest pairings with red meats, roasts and medium-mature cheeses. The magnum format encourages sharing and a slower evolution in bottle, while the wooden case enhances presentation, making it suitable for convivial occasions or as a considered gift.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
