The Bandol Rouge produced by the renowned Domaine de la Begude is a true exemplar of elegance and power, epitomizing the essence of the winemaking tradition of Provence. This wine is primarily composed of Mourvèdre grapes, complemented by touches of Grenache and Cinsault, which provide a complex structure and a richness of aromas.

Visually, it presents a deep, intense red color. On the nose, it offers a vibrant bouquet with notes of ripe red fruits, dark spices, and a subtle hint of vanilla, resulting from aging in French oak barrels. On the palate, the Bandol Rouge from Domaine de la Begude reveals a velvety texture and elegant tannins that harmonize beautifully with the mineral freshness typical of the region's limestone terrain.

Ideal to serve at a temperature of 16-18°C, it pairs splendidly with red meats, game, and aged cheeses. A wine that can also benefit from a few years of aging in the cellar, developing additional nuances of flavor and complexity.

Region: Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (Bandol)
Country: Francia

Main production under AOP Bandol. Approximately a 50-hectare vineyard within a larger estate. Predominance of Mourvèdre in the blend. Official transition to biodynamic practices under the Demeter label. Management focused on minimal cellar interventions and tailored winemaking.
Winery history
An estate with historical roots in the region, Domaine de La Bégude was managed by the Tari family until 2022; in September 2022 the property was acquired by the Roulleau family. The Domaine's official dossier also describes earlier phases of restructuring and a long agricultural tradition linked to viticulture and olive growing in the Bandol / Sainte-Baume area.
Production philosophy
Agricultural approach focused on minimal interference: agronomic practices that respect biodiversity, hand harvesting, parcel-by-parcel selection and minimal-intervention winemaking. The Domaine has obtained organic certifications and has begun conversion to biodynamics/Demeter certification to best express the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the Bandol appellation in southern France, the estate farms terraced parcels and benefits from pronounced diurnal temperature variations and Mediterranean winds. The vineyard sits within a large protected landscape near the Sainte-Baume massif and Natura 2000 areas.
