Pairing Meat - Cheese
Pian Romualdo is produced with Barbera grapes from the area of the same name in the municipality of Monforte, at an altitude of about 500 m a.s.l. The red vinification takes place in steel, with maturation in large 77 hectolitre oak barrels for a period of about 12 months, followed by refinement in the bottle for almost a year before being put on the market.

In the glass it shows off a beautiful purplish red color with dark ruby reflections. On the nose it releases ample aromas with characteristic aromas of ripe black fruit and spices. The sip is dynamic, harmonious, full, rich and persistent.
A perfect wine throughout the meal but which, however, is recommended, to enjoy it to the fullest, to combine it with roast meat, game and aged cheeses.

Winery history
Prunotto was born from the experience of the cooperative 'Ai Vini delle Langhe' and takes its name from Alfredo Prunotto, who assumed its leadership. In the post‑war period, management passed to technical figures such as Beppe Colla, who in the 1960s initiated the practice of separate vinification of crus. From the late 1980s a commercial collaboration and subsequent integration with the Marchesi Antinori family developed; from the 1990s Albiera Antinori contributed to steering the company’s strategy toward the acquisition and enhancement of prestigious vineyards and varietal development.
Production philosophy
The production approach combines respect for local tradition with openness to innovation: careful vineyard management, enhancement of individual crus, and experimentation with grape varieties, to express the territorial character in specific labels.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery operates in the Langhe and Monferrato region, with vineyards and cru sites distributed across the Barolo, Barbaresco, Nizza, Alba and Monferrato areas. Historic sites include Bussia, Bric Turot, Costamiòle, Pian Romualdo, Bricco Colma and other parcels in Langhe, Roero and Monferrato.
Awards and recognitions
Individual wines from Prunotto have received recognition in international competitions and rankings; some labels have been awarded medals in competitions such as the International Wine Competition / Rodeo Uncorked.
