Barolo DOCG Cannubi, a prized creation from the historic Giacomo Brezza winery in the Langhe, presents itself as a red wine of refined elegance and enveloping body. The vineyards intended for the cultivation of Nebbiolo are located in the famous Cannubi cru. This area offers optimal conditions for Nebbiolo, with a soil substrate composed of gray sandstone which gives minerality to the grapes.

After a careful manual harvest in October, the bunches are taken to the cellar and delicately pressed. Fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts, proceeding spontaneously for approximately seven days. The subsequent maceration lasts for two weeks without filtration or clarification. The wine ages for at least two years in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a further year of refinement in the bottle, strictly numbered to identify a limited production of excellence.

The wine has an intense garnet red color. The olfactory bouquet opens on a complex symphony of aromas, where spices blend harmoniously with notes of tobacco. On the palate, this wine is dense and enveloping. The lively freshness combines with important tannins, creating a flavor texture that expresses the essence of its origin. Each sip is a journey through layers of taste that develop and evolve, giving a pleasant persistence.

Pairs beautifully with croast or grilled meat, approxStewed red meat, game

Winery history
The Brezza family has owned vineyards in Barolo since 1885; the company name comes from Giacomo Brezza and the first documented bottling dates to the early 20th century. The business has remained family-run and has developed by preserving the historic cellars while combining tradition with some technological interventions in winemaking.
Production philosophy
Enhancing the crus and the Langhe territory, prioritizing winemaking that respects the grapes' characteristics: a traditional approach for the great reds and stainless-steel vinification for the fresher styles. Cultivation is oriented toward organic farming, as evidenced by the company's certification.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in the municipality of Barolo, Piedmont. Its estate vineyards include parcels within the MGA of Cannubi, Castellero and Sarmassa; there are also vineyard plots in other municipalities of the Langhe such as Monforte d'Alba, Novello and in the area between Alba and Diano d'Alba.
