The Barolo DOCG Rocche Di Castiglione produced by the Ceretto winery is an excellent expression of the Langhe terroir in Piedmont. This wine, renowned for its structure and complexity, is obtained from the Nebbiolo grape variety, which here manifests in one of its highest forms. The 2021 vintage allowed for optimal grape maturation, resulting in a wine of great aromatic depth.
In appearance, the Barolo Rocche Di Castiglione presents a deep garnet red color, tending towards brick with aging. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit, floral notes of rose and violet, along with nuances of tobacco, leather, and subtle hints of sweet spices like vanilla and cinnamon, deriving from maturation in wood.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a well-integrated tannic texture and an acidity that brings freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste that echoes the olfactory sensations. It is a wine that can be appreciated now but also has great aging potential.
