Bin 311 - Penfolds is a high quality Australian white wine, produced by the renowned Penfolds winery, famous for its long history of winemaking excellence. Known for being a distinctive expression of the Chardonnay grape, Bin 311 reflects Penfolds' approach to creating premium wines, focusing on selecting the best grapes from different Australian wine-growing regions to achieve a harmonious and complex blend.

Launched in 2005, Bin 311 stands out for its style which aims to highlight the elegance, minerality and freshness of Chardonnay, breaking away from the approach more traditionally linked to the intensive use of wood. This choice allows us to highlight the varietal characteristics and terroir of the selected regions, which include cool areas such as the Adelaide Hills, Tumbarumba and Tasmania, known for producing exceptional quality Chardonnay.

At sight, Bin 311 Chardonnay has a light and brilliant straw yellow color. On the nose, the wine offers a rich and sophisticated aromatic profile, with notes of citrus, white pulp fruit, flowers and a subtle mineral vein, accompanied by delicate hints of oak which enrich the bouquet without overpowering it.

In the mouth, the wine is balanced and refined, with a lively acidity that brings freshness and dynamism. Fresh fruit flavors and minerality blend with a creamy texture, the result of partial malolactic fermentation and refinement on fine lees, which give Bin 311 complexity and depth, culminating in a long and persistent finish.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with fish, seafood, poultry and fresh cheese dishes, Bin 311 - Penfolds represents a modern and sophisticated interpretation of Australian Chardonnay, capable of offering a unique and satisfying tasting experience.

Winery history
Penfolds was founded in Magill when Christopher and Mary Penfold planted the first vines in 1844. Over the decades the winery grew from local production of fortified and table wines to an international presence, with key moments such as the arrival of Max Schubert and the experimentation that led to the creation of the famous Grange in the 1950s. Today Penfolds combines tradition and innovation, continuing to nurture historic vineyards and select fruit from many regions for its flagship wines.
Production philosophy
The company's approach combines technical rigor and creativity: Penfolds prioritizes the pursuit of the "house style" through site selection, cellar experimentation and a vision that brings together science and craftsmanship to produce age-worthy, distinctive wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Historic headquarters in Magill, with sourcing from many Australian wine regions including Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Eden Valley, Clare Valley, Wrattonbully and also cooler areas such as Tasmania. Penfolds also has international projects and fruit sources, for example Napa Valley in the United States.
