Brunello di Montalcino DOCG - Cupano is born in the heart of Tuscany, in one of the most suitable and renowned areas for the production of excellent wines. This extraordinary wine is made exclusively with Sangiovese grosso grapes, a characteristic that gives personality and longevity to the product. The vineyards of Cupano are located on clay-limestone hills, where the Mediterranean climate, with cool nights, favors balanced ripening and complex aromatic development.

The aging process involves a long period in oak barrels, which contributes to giving Brunello an elegant and intense structure, capable of evolving over time. On the nose, it opens with aromas of ripe red fruits, wild cherries, and delicate spicy notes of black pepper and tobacco. On the palate, the tannic texture is refined, balanced by a solid acidity that ensures freshness and persistence. Its softness envelops with a long and savory finish.

Perfect paired with typical Tuscan dishes such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù or braised meats, this Brunello is also suitable for long cellaring, improving and enriching its sensory complexity over the years.

Production of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino Vineyard at Podere Centine Certified organic farming and biodynamic practices in the vineyard. First recorded vintage: 2000 Winemaking approach inspired by the Burgundian style
Winery history
Ornella Tondini and Lionel Cousin moved from Paris to Montalcino in the 1990s. They purchased Podere Centine in 1994 and began planting vineyards toward the end of the decade; the first recorded harvest was in 2000. The estate was restored after a long period of inactivity and developed using organic farming methods and a careful selection of vines.
Production philosophy
Low-impact vineyard practices, use of organic methods, controlled yields and minimal intervention in the cellar. Respectful winemaking with indigenous yeasts, aging in Burgundian-style barriques, without filtration or fining to showcase the wines' elegance and evolution.
Terroir and vineyards
Podere Centine is located southwest of Montalcino, close to the village of Camigliano, on a hill overlooking the Ombrone valley. The soils are clay-sandy with a notable presence of pebbles, and the site benefits from maritime breezes despite being about 30 km from the sea.
