The Cabernet Riserva DOC Friuli Colli Orientali from La Viarte winery is a distinguishable example of red wine that encapsulates the excellence of Friulian viticulture. Produced mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes, this reserve wine undergoes aging in barrels, which significantly contributes to its aromatic complexity and enveloping taste.

With its deep ruby-red color, the Cabernet Riserva opens with an intensely aromatic bouquet, characterized by notes of berries, spices, and a slight herbaceous touch that reveals the typicality of its blend. This is followed by a light hint of vanilla and leather, derived from the barrel aging, which further enriches the olfactory profile.

On the palate, it proves to be robust and well-structured. The tannins are present but elegant, well-integrated with a freshness that invites the next sip. The finish is long and persistent, pleasantly recalling the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose.

This Cabernet Riserva from La Viarte is a wine that evolves beautifully over time, showing remarkable aging potential. It pairs splendidly with hearty dishes such as meat roasts, game, and aged cheeses, but can also be appreciated on its own as a meditative wine.

Ideal for a discerning audience, this wine represents an excellent choice for those who wish to explore the depth and complexity of Friulian reds. A prestigious addition to any cellar, the Cabernet Riserva DOC Friuli Colli Orientali from La Viarte promises to offer a memorable tasting experience.

Winery history
La Viarte was established as a production company in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and is recorded as having been founded in 1973. Over the years it has developed dedicated ranges and, in 2023, returned to public attention thanks to a new management phase with the arrival of the Polegato family, who relaunched the company while maintaining its focus on the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery places respect for the territory, the enhancement of native grape varieties, and a detail-oriented cellar approach at its core: targeted winemaking by type, selective use of oak for red wines, and limited production to emphasize quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located on the hills of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards grow on marly-sandy soils, which impart structure and minerality to the wines.
