Cabreo Il Borgo Toscana IGT 1983 reflects the long evolution of a mature Tuscan red. In the glass it shows an intense garnet color, typical of its age, while on the nose it offers a complex profile with notes of ripe fruit, plum and subtle tertiary aromas such as leather, tobacco and light spice. The palate is balanced, with softened tannins and a structure that still preserves freshness, accompanied by a sustained and pleasant finish.

Serving suggestions: open the bottle carefully and allow the wine some time after light exposure to assess its condition; in case of reduction or sediment, slow and cautious decanting is recommended. Serve at around 16–18 °C to appreciate its breath and aromatic detail. Pairs well with braised meats, flavorful roasts and aged cheeses, generally dishes rich in umami. The bottle comes from Tenute del Cabreo (Folonari) and is presented in a wooden case, helpful for storage and protection during transport.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
