This Jeroboam from 1983, by Tenute del Cabreo - Folonari, is a bottle of considerable age. On the nose it appears evolved, with tertiary notes suggesting tobacco, leather, dried fruit and forest floor, accompanied by delicate spice. The colour is garnet with brick-tinged rim; on the palate it shows medium body, softened tannins and a balanced profile that favors complexity over fresh fruit. As a vintage bottle, sediment and variations from the original bottling may be present: we advise checking the cork condition and the integrity of the wooden case before purchase.

For tasting, proceed with caution: open carefully, consider a gentle decant to separate any sediment and allow a few minutes to breathe; serve at around 16–18 °C. The Jeroboam format requires handling by two people. It pairs well with hearty dishes such as grilled meats, game, rich ragùs and aged cheeses. We do not guarantee the internal organoleptic condition, so it is preferable to inspect the bottle before consumption.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
