Cabreo Il Borgo Toscana IGT 1985 in Jeroboam format, presented in a wooden case by Tenute del Cabreo for Folonari. It is a large-format bottle with the year indicated on the label. In the glass it shows an evolved colour with orange-tinged reflections suggesting development over time; on the nose there are impressions of ripe red fruit, plum, candied orange peel and a tertiary bouquet of tobacco, leather and undergrowth. The overall impression is restrained, with aromas unfolding without excess and offering a complex but controlled profile.

On the palate it confirms a soft texture, integrated tannins and an acidity that supports the drinkability without being aggressive; the persistence is moderate and leaves fruity and spicy memories. To enjoy it at its best, gentle decanting is recommended and serving at a moderate temperature. The Jeroboam format in a wooden case makes it suitable for convivial occasions or for those who seek a vintage example to share; pair it with hearty dishes such as roasts, braises, stews and aged cheeses.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
