For wines of this age, one can expect evolved profiles: aromas shifting from ripe fruit toward earthier and spicier notes, although final quality depends greatly on storage. On the palate the structure may be softened compared with a young wine, with rounder tannins and more integrated acidity. It pairs with hearty, rustic dishes, braised meats, stews and aged cheeses, or can be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative wine. Serve at a moderate temperature (around 16–18 °C) and consume the bottle within a few hours of opening.
