Cabreo Il Borgo Toscana IGT 1987, offered in Jeroboam format and presented in a wooden case, is a vintage witness from Tenute del Cabreo distributed by Folonari. This is an aged bottle that requires care in storage and opening: given its age it may show signs of evolution and a complexity developed over time. To best appreciate its aromatic profile, serve at a controlled temperature and consider gentle aeration before serving, being mindful that some olfactory components may be delicate.

In the glass it may display ripe fruit impressions with more tertiary, enveloping notes such as subtle spices, hints of tobacco and light earthy nuances; on the palate the texture tends toward softness with tannins reflecting the bottle's age. Without specific winemaking details, it pairs well with structured but not overly salty dishes—braises, stews, mushroom-based preparations or aged cheeses—and as a vintage Jeroboam individual bottles can vary: assess each case before serving.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
