Pairing Meat dishes and aged/great cheeses
Cabreo Il Borgo Toscana IGT 2018, offered by Tenute del Cabreo and distributed by Folonari, is a red wine that shows character and clear expression. The color is lively ruby, the nose opens with sensations of ripe red fruit, light spicy notes and controlled herbaceous nuances. Some hints of small fruits and a slight fresh energy contribute to a fragrant, contemporary profile. The aromatic structure is direct but not intrusive, with persistence that invites further tasting.

On the palate it shows balanced body, noticeable but well-integrated tannins and freshness that supports the sip; the finish is sapid and leaves fruity echoes. It pairs with grilled meats, matured cold cuts and medium-aged cheeses, but also stands up well to more flavorful mushroom-based dishes. A short aeration in a decanter before serving can soften the contours; recommended serving temperature around 16–18 °C. Suitable for those looking for a Tuscan red with a clear personality and an approachable manner.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
