Cabreo Il Borgo Toscana IGT 2022 from Tenute del Cabreo (Folonari) is a red wine with a balanced personality, representative of the Toscana IGT category. Visually it shows a compact ruby colour; on the nose it opens with notes of ripe red fruit, light floral hints and discreet spice accents. On the palate it displays a soft tannic texture and pleasant freshness, supported by a medium-bodied structure that makes the sip harmonious and approachable.

It pairs well with everyday dishes and preparations with white meats, cold cuts and moderately aged cheeses; it also suits pasta with ragù and flavorful mains without overpowering the flavours. Recommended to serve at a moderate temperature in a wide glass to enhance the aromas. Storage guidance: ideal for medium-term consumption, although it can withstand a short cellar stay. Suitable for those looking for a pleasant, unfussy Tuscan red.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
