Casamatta Bianco IGT Toscana is a white wine by Bibi Graetz, bearing the IGT Toscana geographical indication. The available information does not specify a vintage, grape varieties or winemaking details. This description therefore remains deliberately factual and does not ascribe particular aromas, structure or techniques to the wine. It may appeal to those wishing to explore a Tuscan white from this producer, referring to the information on the label and current availability. The name Casamatta identifies the bottle, while the white-wine category alone does not allow further sensory characteristics to be inferred.

At the table, this white wine may be considered alongside fish, vegetables or delicately prepared dishes, with pairings chosen according to the recipe and personal preference. It can be served chilled, following any guidance provided by the producer or retailer. Serving temperature can affect how the wine is perceived. The bottle may suit an everyday dinner or an informal occasion when a Tuscan wine is desired. It need not be the sole consideration when choosing: the style of the dish, the setting and the guests’ tastes remain important.

Tuscan producer led by transformative artist Bibi Graetz, known for IGT wines produced from historic vineyards on the hills of Fiesole and for the predominant use of Sangiovese and other native varieties. (https://www.bibigraetz.com/en/)
Region: Toscana
Country: Italia
Founded: 2000
Grapes: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Ansonica, Vermentino, Trebbiano
Testamatta and Colore as reference labels. Strong focus on old vineyards and indigenous grape varieties. Production of white wines from Isola del Giglio with Ansonica.
Winery history
Bibi Graetz, with an artistic background, transformed his connection with the vineyards around the Castello di Vincigliata into a winemaking project launched at the turn of the millennium; the work developed through the restoration of old vineyards and collaboration with experienced winemakers in the early stages. His estate and wines have received international attention since their first years of production.
Production philosophy
Enhancing old vineyards and native grape varieties through low-intervention practices, spontaneous fermentations and traditional cellar techniques to showcase the terroir of each vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
Estate and winery on the hills of Fiesole, with vineyards in several parcels between Florence and Siena; production of white wines from old vines on Isola del Giglio and harvest from historic parcels in areas such as Vincigliata, Lamole, Londa and nearby areas. Poor, sandy soils and soils rich in galestro characterize many parcels.
