The Champagne AOC Royale Reserve Brut from the prestigious house of Philipponnat is a celebration of elegance and sophistication. With a history rooted in the heart of Champagne, this winery has distinguished itself through the high quality of its products and a winemaking approach focused on enhancing the terroir.

This Royale Reserve Brut is composed mainly of Pinot Noir grapes, complemented by Chardonnay and a small percentage of Pinot Meunier, sourced from the finest vineyards in the area. The wine spends a minimum of three years on the lees in the cellar, which contributes to developing significant aromatic complexity and a creamy texture.

Visually, the wine presents a bright, attractive pale gold color with very fine and persistent bubbles. On the nose, the bouquet is rich, with notes of ripe fruits like peach and pear, enriched by nuances of bread crust and yeasts, typical of extended bottle aging.

On the palate, the Royale Reserve Brut surprises with its freshness and liveliness. The initial taste is agile and direct, followed by a beautiful harmony between acidity and softness. The finish is long and clean, with a delightful return of fruity and yeast notes.

This champagne proves to be an excellent choice for aperitifs or to accompany delicate dishes such as seafood, sushi, or fish-based dishes. Its elegance also makes it suitable for celebrations and special moments. A true gem of Champagne, embodying the perfect balance between tradition and modernity, which will delight lovers of refined and high-quality sparkling wines.

Discover the story and wines of Philipponnat.

Maison de Champagne based in Mareuil‑sur‑Aÿ, renowned for its emphasis on Pinot Noir and the legendary Clos des Goisses vineyard; it combines centuries‑old family tradition with winemaking practices geared towards ageing and precision.
Region: Champagne
Country: Francia
Founded: 1910
Grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier
Historic estate with family roots in the region dating back to 1522. The Maison's foundation as a modern producer is attributed to 1910. Owner and producer of the renowned Clos des Goisses, a walled, very steep vineyard near Mareuil‑sur‑Aÿ. Winemaking style focused on Pinot Noir, with extended ageing on the lees and extra‑brut cuvées/long ageing. Part of the Lanson‑BCC group, yet the family remains involved in management.
Winery history
The Philipponnat family has been present in the Champagne region since the 16th century. The Champagne house as it is known today was founded in the early 20th century and is commonly attributed to Pierre Philipponnat in 1910. In the 1930s the Maison acquired the celebrated Clos des Goisses, which has since become its reference cru. From the late 20th century onwards, ownership and management underwent changes: the Maison became part of industry groups while retaining family members in the running of the brand.
Production philosophy
Style focused on grape maturity and concentration, favoring Pinot Noir as the principal variety; attentive vineyard care aimed at fruit quality, use of fermentations and aging that enhance complexity and freshness, and extended lees aging to achieve structured, elegant wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Based in Mareuil‑sur‑Aÿ. The Maison works parcels in Aÿ, Mareuil‑sur‑Aÿ and other crus in the area, using grapes from both the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. The Clos des Goisses is the house's best‑known cru.
