Champagne Cuvée Preface Extra Brut - Bardiaù is an exemplary choice for those who appreciate high-quality Champagne with a distinctive character. Produced by the renowned Bardiaù winery, this cuvée represents the excellence of winemaking in the realm of Champagne.

This Extra Brut Champagne is highly appreciated for its rich and complex aromatic profile. On the nose, one can detect vibrant notes of citrus and white fruits like pear, along with light nuances of white flowers, blending with more evolved scents of brioche bread and toasted almonds, deriving from the extended maturation period on the yeasts.

On the palate, the Cuvée Preface Extra Brut reveals an elegant structure and a well-balanced acidity. Its effervescence is fine and persistent, a hallmark of the care and precision in its production. Flavors of citrus and fresh fruit envelop the palate, followed by a long and refreshingly mineral finish.

Aged for at least 36 months in the cellar before disgorgement, this Champagne demonstrates excellent aging potential, but is also delightful to enjoy now. Its Extra Brut nature, with a very low addition of sugar after the second fermentation, makes it particularly suitable for lovers of very dry sparkling wines, while maintaining excellent aromatic and taste complexity.

Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with light appetizers, seafood, and fish-based dishes. The Champagne Cuvée Preface Extra Brut by Bardiaù is undoubtedly a refined and highly excellent expression, perfect for celebrating special moments or elevating an ordinary evening with a touch of elegance and sophistication.

Winery history
The Bardiau family has been growing vines in the Ource valley for generations. The current in-house production project was launched by Jérémy Bardiau around 2015. The estate has developed as an artisanal operation focused on the specific characteristics of the individual vineyards in the southern Côte des Bar.
Production philosophy
Artisanal, low-intervention approach: agronomic practices aimed at reducing pesticides, fermentations often entrusted to indigenous yeasts, and winemaking designed to highlight the character of each cru. The stated goal is to achieve clear expressions of the terroir with minimal intervention in the cellar.
Terroir and vineyards
Verpillières‑sur‑Ource, in the southern part of the Côte des Bar. The estate's soils include calcareous formations and areas of Kimmeridgian, aspects regarded as decisive for the wines' freshness and minerality.
