This noble red was born in the heart of Provence, precisely in the vineyards of Chateau Romassan, belonging to the renowned Domaines Ott winery. Bandol Rouge is an authentic expression of the terroir of this region, famous for its structured and intensely aromatic red wines. The varietal composition is mainly based on Mourvèdre, flanked by Grenache and Cinsault, which together give this wine a distinctive character and fascinating complexity.

The winemaking follows traditional methods, with prolonged maceration which enhances the richness of the tannins and the intensity of the aromas. Aging in French oak barriques further integrates the structure of the wine, adding nuances of spices, vanilla and light toasted touches that blend harmoniously with the notes of ripe red fruits, plums and a delicate hint of Mediterranean herbs.

On the palate, Chateau Romassan Bandol Rouge reveals a rare power and elegance, with a perfect balance between acidity and soft tannins that promise a long aging capacity. Its gustatory persistence is remarkable, leaving a lasting impression of refinement and complexity.

Perfect as an accompaniment to dishes rich in flavor such as grilled red meats, game and mature cheeses, this Bandol Rouge is a jewel in the Domaines Ott collection, capable of giving unforgettable emotions to wine lovers looking for authentic, high-quality experiences. Tasting it is a sensorial journey into the most authentic Provence, a land rich in history and winemaking traditions.

Conversion to organic and sustainable practices underway; first Ecocert‑certified harvests reported by sources.
Winery history
The Ott family's activity in Provence began with Marcel Ott; the first documented purchase was Château de Selle. The family later acquired Clos Mireille and Château Romassan. During the 20th century Domaines Ott developed a quality-focused production, with parcel-based vinifications and an iconic bottle introduced by the family in the 1930s. More recently the project entered the sphere of the Roederer group, while technical management remained entrusted to the Ott family.
Production philosophy
A focus on the typicality of individual terroirs, yield limitation and meticulous winemaking. Consistent attention to soil quality and ageing. In recent years the group has begun converting part of its vineyards to more sustainable and organic practices.
Terroir and vineyards
The three estates are located in the Var department: Château de Selle in Taradeau, Clos Mireille in La Londe-les-Maures and Château Romassan in Le Castellet. The terroirs range from clay-limestone and chalky soils to schist and quartz, resulting in wines with distinct profiles.
