Advice to enjoy this wine at its best.

Let’s talk about Chianti Classico DOCG - 375 ml - Lilliano

More questions

The Chianti Classico DOCG produced by Lilliano winery is an excellent example of how wine quality can be cultivated in the Chianti region. Available in practical 375 ml bottles, this wine represents an ideal option both for an intimate dinner and for individual tasting.

Created exclusively with selected grapes from the finest vines in the area, Lilliano's Chianti Classico displays an intense ruby red color, which foreshadows the richness of its bouquet. On the nose, the wine offers a complexity of aromas ranging from ripe red fruit, such as cherry and plum, to more evolved notes of sweet spices, tobacco, and a light touch of chocolate, derived from aging in barrique.

On the palate, the wine presents a robust but balanced structure. The tannins are well present but mature, balanced by a fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively and inviting. The finish is persistent, with a pleasant reverberation of fruity and spicy flavors.

Perfect for pairing with Tuscan dishes, such as bistecca alla fiorentina or stewed wild boar, Lilliano's Chianti Classico can also be an excellent companion for aged cheeses and cured meats. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 16-18°C to enhance all its qualities.

This wine is not only a testament to the winemaking tradition of Chianti but also to the commitment of the Lilliano winery to high-quality production that respects traditional techniques and the environment.

The story
The village and estate of Lilliano have medieval origins; the property was acquired by the Berlingieri family in 1920 and wine bottling began with Princess Eleonora Ruspoli Berlingieri in 1958. The estate is currently managed by the brothers Giulio and Pietro Ruspoli, with Giulio in charge since the year indicated on the website.
Production philosophy
The estate aims to showcase the local area and Sangiovese, working to extract elegance and longevity from the wines through carefully controlled vinification, maturation in botti and tonneaux, and attentive vineyard management. The approach combines respect for the terroir with modern cellar techniques to produce balanced, long-lived wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in Chianti Classico, between Castellina in Chianti and Monteriggioni. The soils are predominantly "alberese", which tends to delay ripening, promoting acidity and aromaticity; the main vineyards cited are Le Piagge, Casina Sopra Strada and Vigna Catena. The estate also states that its total landholding extends over hundreds of hectares, with the vineyards reported as 40 hectares.
