The "D'Alceo" from Castello dei Rampolla is a red wine of extraordinary elegance and depth, produced in one of the most prestigious areas of Tuscany. This IGT (Typical Geographical Indication) wine originates from the vineyards located in the heart of Chianti Classico, where the terroir best expresses the qualities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the varieties that make up the blend of this excellent wine.

With a vinification process aimed at enhancing the purity of the fruit and the aromatic integrity of the grapes, "D'Alceo" undergoes a maturation of about 14 months in French oak barriques, followed by further refinement in the bottle that completes its character. The result is a wine with a deep ruby color, which on the nose opens with intense notes of ripe red fruits, dark spices, and a slight balsamic touch that invites a sip.

On the palate, "D'Alceo" displays a formidable structure, excellent balance, and a complexity that unfolds among flavors of black fruit, chocolate, coffee, and nuances of aromatic herbs and damp earth, supported by robust yet refined tannins and a persistent freshness that prolongs the pleasure in the long finish.

Ideal for pairing with rich dishes such as roasted red meats, stews, or aged cheeses, "D'Alceo" is a wine that can be enjoyed immediately but also has considerable aging potential, capable of evolving and refining in the cellar for many years.

A true symbol of the passion and dedication of the Castello dei Rampolla family, "D'Alceo" is a high-prestige choice for any collector and lover of Tuscan wines, making it a magnificent addition to any wine selection in your e-commerce.

Winery history
The estate’s vineyards are in the Conca d’Oro, at Santa Lucia in Faulle, and have been owned by the Napoli Rampolla family since 1739. The estate’s modern winemaking history began in the mid-1960s with Alceo di Napoli Rampolla; the first bottles bearing the Castello dei Rampolla name date to 1975. Over the years the estate introduced Cabernet Sauvignon to the area, established high-density plantings and began conversion to biodynamic farming in the 1990s, followed by experiments with amphorae, cocciopesto and other terracotta vessels for vinification.
Production philosophy
Strong focus on soil care and biodynamic viticulture: the vineyard is managed by leaving vegetation and encouraging biodiversity, with reduced chemical interventions and practices designed to respect natural rhythms. In the winery, experiments are carried out with terracotta fermentations and with wines made without added sulfites for some labels.
Terroir and vineyards
Conca d’Oro, Panzano in Chianti. Area characterized by favorable exposures and diurnal temperature variations conducive to grape ripening.
