Winery history
Cantine Leonardo da Vinci was founded as an agricultural cooperative in Vinci. Started by a group of local farmers in the 1960s, it progressively expanded to include over 200 members and to acquire production facilities in Montalcino. Over time the cooperative has adopted modern technologies to improve the consistency and quality of its products and states that it has an international commercial presence.
Production philosophy
An approach based on collaboration among local producers and attention to the raw material: the cooperative maintains that "better grapes produce better wines," combining the traditional practices of the growers with controlled winemaking processes.
Terroir and vineyards
The cooperative's vineyards are located in Tuscany, specifically around Vinci and Cerreto Guidi for Chianti, and in the Val di Cava in Montalcino for Brunello.
