Winery history
The winery was established by the Fezzigna family and, according to available sources, dates back to 1957 when Francesco Fezzigna began operations in the area known as Caraconessa. Management has remained family-run for several generations; in recent years the winery has obtained organic certification and has focused on directly overseeing all production stages from the vineyard to bottling.
Production philosophy
Artisanal production and respect for the terroir: organic practices, promotion of native grape varieties, and hands-on care during production to express the local identity of Cirò and Melissa.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the area known as Caraconessa, between Umbriatico and Cirò, at approximately 100 metres above sea level. The soils are described as medium-textured with a sandy component and rich in mineral salts; a marked diurnal temperature variation contributes to the ripening of the grapes.
