Discover the story and wines of Col Solare.

A winery established through a collaboration between Marchesi Antinori and Chateau Ste. Michelle, focused on high-quality red wines that express the terroir of Red Mountain (Washington, USA).
Region: Red Mountain AVA, Washington
Country: Stati Uniti
Founded: 1995
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Carmenere
Partnership between Marchesi Antinori and Chateau Ste. Michelle. Estate-owned vineyard planted on Red Mountain according to principles inspired by the Antinori estates. Strong focus on Cabernet Sauvignon from the Red Mountain AVA. Current winemaker with international experience and meticulous management of cellar operations.
Winery history
Col Solare was created as a partnership between the historic Antinori family and Chateau Ste. Michelle, with its first vintage produced in 1995. Over time the partners planted an estate vineyard on Red Mountain and gradually steered production toward Cabernet Sauvignon wines of pronounced structure and elegance, combining Italian viticultural and winemaking practices with the pedoclimatic conditions of the Columbia Valley.
Production philosophy
Uniting two winemaking traditions to produce wines of great structure, longevity and true to the fruit, with strong attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in the Red Mountain AVA, a small but warm subregion of the Columbia Valley known for poor soils, cool nights and concentrated grapes; these conditions favor the production of rich, structured Cabernet Sauvignon.
