Contrada Spadatrappo Etna Bianco DOC from Masseria Setteporte expresses an immediate, honest profile influenced by Etna’s volcanic soils: in the glass it opens with aromas of fresh citrus, white flowers and light herbal notes, on a mineral background that recalls stone and fine ash. The palate is nervy and sprightly, supported by lively acidity that keeps the wine taut without becoming sharp; it is medium-bodied, with a texture that hints at controlled softness and a sapidity that invites a second sip.

On the palate it develops with fine persistence, where lemon zest returns and a pleasant saline note appears in the finish; the character leans more toward clarity and precision than power. Excellent with light seafood dishes, crudités, baked fish and fresh cheeses, it also pairs well with Mediterranean cuisine; serve at around 10-12 °C to appreciate its freshness and mineral details.

Winery history
The estate is owned by the Portale family: the facilities were modernized by Ferdinando Portale and, according to sources, his son Piero Portale relaunched the winery in the early 2000s by expanding the estate's area and initiating more regular bottlings. The vineyards are arranged on south/southwest‑facing terraces, and the winery is recognized as a producer historically tied to the Etna area.

Production focused on expressing the Etna terroir with limited winemaking interventions; agronomic practices under certified organic management and a focus on local indigenous grape varieties.
Terroir and vineyards
Terraced vineyards on the south‑west slope of Mount Etna, in the municipality of Biancavilla; lava-derived and sandy volcanic soils with south/south‑west‑facing exposure, at elevations of approximately 650–800 metres above sea level.
