The Côte-Rôtie "Les Bécasses" - M. Chapoutier is an emblematic example of the mastery of Michel Chapoutier in the Rhône Valley, particularly in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, famous for its intense and elegant red wines. This area is known for its steep terraced hills, which require exclusively manual cultivation and harvesting. The unique terroir, composed of mineral-rich shale and sandstone soils, together with the particular microclimate, gives the wines of Côte-Rôtie a distinctive combination of strength and finesse.

"Les Bécasses" is made primarily with Syrah grapes, the region's leading grape variety, which can be co-fermented with a small percentage of Viognier, a traditional practice that adds complexity and aromatic depth to the wine. Michel Chapoutier, known for his respectful approach to the terroir and for the adoption of biodynamic practices, produces this wine following principles that aim to best express the innate characteristics of the grape and the soil.

At sight, the Côte-Rôtie "Les Bécasses" has an intense ruby red color, which can tend towards garnet with evolution. On the nose, the wine offers a rich bouquet of aromas that include notes of ripe red and black fruits, such as blackberries and cassis, enriched by nuances of spices, black pepper, purple flowers and a touch of olives, typical of Syrah from the Rhone Valley . The wood is well integrated, providing complexity without overpowering the fruit.

In the mouth, "Les Bécasses" demonstrates a powerful yet balanced structure, with fine tannins and lively acidity that give the wine great elegance and long persistence. The flavors on the palate faithfully reflect the nose, with an addition of mineral and earthy notes that highlight the uniqueness of the Côte-Rôtie terroir.

Ideal in combination with red meat dishes, game, spicy dishes and mature cheeses, the Côte-Rôtie "Les Bécasses" - M. Chapoutier is a wine that stands out for its ability to age gracefully, developing greater complexity over time and aromatic nuances.
