Winery history
Originally established as part of the Schenk group's Spanish affiliates, operations in the Valencia and Requena area date back to the late 1920s; the name "Bodegas Murviedro" was later adopted as a recognizable brand. In recent decades the winery has reinforced its regional identity by focusing on the recovery and promotion of indigenous varieties and by developing wine tourism projects such as the "Historic Winery" in the historic centre of Requena.
Production philosophy
It focuses on expressing the Utiel-Requena terroir, favoring indigenous varieties and selected parcels to produce wines that reflect the Mediterranean character of the area. This approach is complemented by the production of wine ranges aimed at the international market and by communication and wine tourism initiatives.
Terroir and vineyards
The production is mainly tied to the Utiel-Requena area: a continental climate with Mediterranean influences, day–night temperature variations, and predominantly calcareous-clay soils — conditions cited in the descriptions of the winery’s wines and individual labels.
