Marisa Bacher – Winery in Piemonte

Discover the story and wines of Marisa Bacher.

An emerging Piedmontese producer with a vineyard in Monforte d'Alba, producing low-intervention wines and focusing on Dolcetto, Barbera, and small quantities of Nebbiolo.
Region: Piemonte
Country: Italia
Founded: 2020
Grapes: Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo
A hillside vineyard located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, which gave rise to the personal project. Very limited initial production: the early vintages were produced in extremely small quantities. Collaboration and training with Mario Fontana since 2016 at Cascina Fontana. Strong focus on Dolcetto and Barbera, followed by later releases of Langhe Nebbiolo. Artisanal winemaker approach and a philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar.
Winery history
Originally from Valsesia, Marisa developed her skills working from 2016 with Mario Fontana at Cascina Fontana. In 2020 she leased a small vineyard on a hill in Monforte d'Alba and obtained her first vineyard production in those years; her first commercial vintage was released shortly after, in extremely limited quantities.
Production philosophy
Low-intervention agricultural practices and artisanal management in the vineyard and winery: cultivation follows organic principles without necessarily being certified; fermentations and aging involve minimal intervention to express the character of the place.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located in the Langhe, specifically in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. The project is based on hillside plots with old vines, aimed at showcasing the typical fruit of Dolcetto and Barbera and also producing Nebbiolo-based wines from the Langhe, Barolo and Barbaresco areas.
