Drambuie is a renowned Scottish liqueur, a unique blend of aged whisky, heather honey and a secret combination of spices and aromatic herbs. Its history dates back to 1745 when the recipe was gifted to a member of the MacKinnon Clan by Prince Charles Edward Stuart as a token of gratitude for his loyalty during the Jacobite uprising.
With an alcohol content of 40%, Drambuie offers a rich and enveloping palate experience. Its color is a bright amber, with golden reflections that promise the complexity and depth of its bouquet. Immediately recognizable on the nose are the notes of honey and spices, followed by a hint of saffron and a subtle trace of aromatic herbs, making each sip a pleasant and intriguing discovery.
In the mouth, Drambuie has a soft and almost creamy texture. The heather honey wraps around the palate, expertly balanced by the warmth of the whisky and touches of vanilla and nutmeg. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasing sweetness accompanied by a slight spicy tingling.
