L'Ermitage Blanc "De l'Orée" by M. Chapoutier is one of the most prestigious and sought-after white wines produced by Michel Chapoutier, one of the most respected and innovative winemakers of the Rhône Valley in France. This wine comes from the Ermitage (or Hermitage) appellation, famous for its wines of exceptional quality both red and white, produced on steep and sunny terrains overlooking the left bank of the Rhône.

"De l'Orée" is mainly produced with Marsanne grapes, harvested from old vines over 60-70 years old, which give the wine an extraordinary concentration and complexity. The name "De l'Orée" refers to the location of the vineyards, located near the edge ("orée" in French) of Hermitage Hill. This specific terroir, combined with Chapoutier's careful work in the vineyard and production philosophy, which includes biodynamic practices, allows for a wine of extraordinary expression and longevity.

At sight, "De l'Orée" presents itself with an intense golden color, which anticipates the richness of the wine. On the nose, it offers a complex and layered bouquet, with aromas of ripe white pulp fruit, such as peach and pear, notes of honey, beeswax, white flowers, and nuances of toasted almonds and sweet spices, deriving both from the quality of the grapes and from aging in barrique.

In the mouth, the wine reveals a rich and velvety texture, supported by a lively acidity that maintains its balance and freshness. The aromatic palette is deep and persistent, with a long finish that leaves a feeling of elegance and refinement.

"De l'Orée" is a wine that pairs beautifully with rich, structured dishes, such as lobster, foie gras, fish in creamy sauces or roasted poultry. It is also a wine that can be enjoyed on its own, as an opportunity to meditate on the complexity and beauty of Marsanne.
