The Fontanin Barolo DOCG by Livia Fontana shows a restrained yet intense character, marked by floral and spicy traits typical of mature Nebbiolo. On the nose it offers notes of withered roses, wild cherry and an earthy hint that evolves into forest-floor aromas, sweet tobacco and white pepper; the profile remains fresh thanks to a vibrant acidity that supports the sip. On the palate you appreciate a clear, well-defined tannic texture that provides structure without being intrusive, accompanied by good suppleness and a persistence that invites a second taste.

It’s a Barolo that asks for time or at least careful decanting before being served; it suits long dinner conversations and pairs elegantly with braised dishes, roasted red meats, game birds and aged cheeses. Serving temperature around 18 °C and mind the glass: the wine needs space to open up and reveal all its nuances. Also ideal for the cellar, where it can gain complexity over the years.
