In the heart of Franciacorta, a region renowned for Lombardy’s sparkling wine excellence, the Franciacorta Essenza Metodo Classico - Magnum - Santus represents a refined and immersive sensory journey. Produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes, this wine matures according to the tradition of extended aging on the lees, which imparts complexity, finesse, and a delicate yet vibrant effervescence. In the glass, it shows a fine and persistent perlage, accompanied by an aromatic profile rich in floral notes, white fruit, and a pleasant minerality. The taste is elegant, balanced, with a flavor structure that recalls toasted bread and almond, characteristic elements of a well-executed metodo classico. The Magnum bottle enhances the maturation, offering a rounder and more complex fruit. Perfect to accompany dishes based on fish, shellfish, or a refined aperitif, this Franciacorta by Santus embodies the excellence of the territory and artisanal care.

Winery history
Cantina Santi was founded as a winery in Illasi and has been present in Valpolicella since the 19th century. During the 20th century the Santi family introduced technical innovations and progressively focused on high-end wines; in 1974 the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which reinforced investments and facilities while preserving its local identity.
Production philosophy
Santi claims a style tied to the sense of place of Valpolicella: it favors the predominant use of Corvina in its selections, aging in large traditional casks, and the use of local woods to enhance the aromatic qualities typical of native grape varieties. The approach combines oenological research with respect for local practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Santi's vineyards and selections are concentrated in Val d'Illasi and the classic areas of Valpolicella, using a vineyard-selection approach across different exposures and microclimates to produce wines that reflect the local terroir. The winery also works with vineyards in other Veronese appellations such as Soave, Bardolino and Lugana.
