The passito version of Ritterhof's Gewürztraminer Sonus, in a 375 ml bottle, displays a rich and immediate aromatic profile. The nose is enveloping without being excessive: white flowers, rose petals and notes of ripe exotic fruit meet sweeter accents of honey and jam that remain well balanced. On the palate the sip is soft and full, with a syrupy texture but balanced by a perceptible freshness that prevents heaviness; a subtle salinity helps give lift, while the finish offers floral and citrus echoes.

It’s a passito that invites a slow tasting, ideal to accompany fruit-based desserts or delicate creams, as well as blue cheeses and pâté that benefit from the sweet–salty contrast. Serve chilled, in small glasses to better appreciate the volume and aromas, and consider it also as a contemplative after-dinner wine: capable of surprising with the clarity of its sip despite the evident sweetness.
