The Gewurztraminer Rheinhessen Trocken from the Dr Fischer - Hofstatter winery is a white wine that stands out for its aromatic character and innate elegance. Originating from the Rheinhessen region, one of the most renowned wine areas in Germany, this Gewurztraminer is produced using the Trocken method, which means "dry" in German, imparting the wine with an extraordinary dryness that perfectly balances its innate aromaticity.

The wine exhibits a bright golden yellow color, typical of Gewurztraminer. On the nose, it is intensely fragrant with dominant notes of rose petals, lychee, and exotic spices harmoniously blending with delicate hints of honey and vanilla. The aroma is immediately enticing and promises a tasting experience rich in nuances.

On the palate, the Gewurztraminer Rheinhessen Trocken from Dr Fischer - Hofstatter reveals a surprising complexity. Its texture is silky, and the well-balanced acidity harmoniously contrasts with the sweetness of the aromas. The palate is caressed by flavors of ripe white-fleshed fruits, such as peach and apricot, followed by a long persistence that leaves a pleasantly spicy and floral aftertaste.

A highly versatile wine, it pairs splendidly with aromatic dishes, such as spicy Asian cuisine or seafood-based dishes. It is also an excellent aperitif that can elegantly and uniquely kick off a gastronomic evening.

Perfect for those who love aromatic whites with a dry taste, this Gewurztraminer is a testament to the skilled vineyard work and enological mastery of the Dr Fischer - Hofstatter winery, which manages to express the best potential of the Rheinhessen terroir.

Tenuta J. Hofstätter – Winery in Alto Adige (Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol)

Discover the story and wines of Tenuta J. Hofstätter.

Family-owned winery based in Termeno (South Tyrol), known for its emphasis on the origin of its wines and for its line of cru labeled "Vigna".
Region: Alto Adige (Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol)
Country: Italia
Founded: 1907
Grapes: Gewürztraminer, Pinot Nero, Pinot Bianco, Lagrein, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Schiava (Vernatsch)
A pioneer in Alto Adige in using the designation "Vigna" to denote single-vineyard wines. Historic premises in the centre of Termeno, flanked by a winemaking tower added during renovation and expansion works. Vineyards spread across multiple microclimates: Bassa Atesina, high-altitude sites in Trentino, and parcels in the Mosel/Saar for Riesling. A strong tradition in Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir, complemented by a wide range of the region's typical white and red varieties. The offer also includes dealcoholized wines from the 'Zero' line.
Winery history
The winery has family origins: Josef and Maria Hofstätter began production in Termeno, and over the course of the 20th century management passed to family members and key figures such as Konrad Oberhofer. In the 1950s the winery was among the first in the area to bottle its own wine and to promote wines of defined origin. In the following decades the estate grew through marriages between winemaking families, acquisitions of farmsteads and vineyards, and extensive modernization from the 1990s under the leadership of Martin Foradori Hofstätter.
Production philosophy
The approach is centered on origin: vinifying the grapes separately to convey the character of each vineyard. The "Vigna" classification encapsulates the commitment to zoning and the expression of terroir, together with an openness to winemaking innovation.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards extend along both banks of the Valle dell'Adige in the Bassa Atesina. The estate also cultivates plots in Trentino and has projects and vineyards in the Mosel/Saar region of Germany for Riesling.
