Nardini Grappa Riserva 70cl represents a sublime example of skill and tradition in Italian distillation. This grappa is produced by Nardini Distillery, founded in 1779 and recognized as one of the oldest in Italy, located at the foothills of the Venetian Alps, an ideal location for producing high-quality grappa.Nardini Grappa Riserva is distilled with a meticulous selection of pomace, mainly from white and red grapes, sourced from nearby wine regions. On the nose, this grappa offers intense and complex aromas, with delicate notes of ripe fruit and hints of almond, balanced by a slightly spicy and vanilla undertone, derived from its aging period in oak barrels. On the palate, it reveals itself to be extraordinarily smooth and enveloping, with a beautiful balance between aromatic richness and alcoholic intensity, culminating in a long and pleasantly persistent finish. Its complexity is also expressed through nuances of chocolate and tobacco, blending with traces of dried fruit. With an alcohol content of 50%, Nardini Grappa Riserva is ideal as a post-meal digestif. It can be enjoyed neat, at room temperature or slightly chilled to enhance its qualities. It is also an excellent choice to accompany dark chocolate or for creating refined cocktails. The bottle's design, elegant and refined, with its rich amber color, reflects the quality and tradition of this grappa, making it a perfect gift for connoisseurs or an excellent addition to any spirits enthusiast's collection. The story
Production began in 1779 when Bortolo Nardini opened his grapperia at the entrance of the Ponte Vecchio in Bassano del Grappa. The company has remained family-run for generations and has expanded its production facilities over the years (including the Monastier plant) while preserving the historic headquarters and the Grapperia on the bridge. For its 225th anniversary the 'Le Bolle' complex, an architectural and research center designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, was created. Nardini is a member of Les Hénokiens, the club of bicentenary family companies.
Distillation
Distillation of vinacce with mixed practices: discontinuous/batch distillation (historically) and use of column/continuous plants at external sites; use of reduced-pressure techniques to preserve aromas (technical details vary by product).
Ageing
For Riserva grappas, aging in wood is practiced; there are references labeled Riserva with multi-year maturations (known examples: 3, 5, 7, 15, 22 years), details are specific to each product.
