La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 1994 from Tenuta di Nozzole and Folonari is presented in a wooden case. It is a mature example that shows the passage of time without excess; in the glass it appears with a color that has lost some youthful brightness, showing ruby reflections and, depending on the vintage, slight garnet hues. On the nose there are notes of ripe fruit, hints of spice and an earthy underpinning that provides complexity while maintaining a composed, measured profile.

On the palate it is dry and tannic but now integrated, with good persistence and a finish recalling plum, sweet tobacco and light leather. To enjoy it at its best, a preliminary opening and a short decantation are recommended, served at a moderate temperature. It pairs well with traditional dishes based on roasted meats, game birds and aged cheeses. Ideal for those seeking a Chianti Classico Riserva with clear signs of evolution and an elegant presence in the bottle.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
