This Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 1999 from Tenuta la Fuga - Folonari shows a profile shaped by age: the color leans toward garnet with orange hues, while the nose reveals evolved notes of dried ripe fruit, undergrowth and light spices. The palate is soft and enveloping, with gentle tannins and a balance that favors depth more than freshness. Overall it retains a composed character typical of mature vintage wines, suitable for those seeking already developed bottles.

The wooden case adds a sense of care in storage and also makes it suitable as a gift or for a collection. It is recommended to open the bottle a few hours before service, serve at around 16–18 degrees and pair with roasted meats, hearty stews or aged cheeses. Given its mature vintage, it is important to check the condition of the cork and bottle before purchase; if further evolution in bottle is desired, store in a stable environment away from temperature fluctuations. Information on grape composition, winemaking techniques and ageing is not provided for this lot.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
