The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2000 from Tenuta la Fuga - Folonari presents itself as a mature example of one of the denomination's historic wines. The bottle coming in a wooden case conveys a sense of care and attention to quality. In the glass it shows an evolved colour with reflections that recall the wine's age; on the nose it indicates developed maturity, with notes of ripe red fruit, earthy hints and balanced spicy accents. The palate is structured yet harmonious, with smoothed tannins and a persistence that reflects its evolution over time.

This wine suits robust dishes and occasions where a refined accompaniment is sought: roasted or braised meats, mushrooms and aged cheeses can pair well, taking the bottle's age into account. Serve at a moderate temperature and open gently to allow the wine to breathe, mindful of possible sediment in the bottle. Ideal for those who seek a Brunello already in an evolved phase.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
