The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2006 from Tenuta la Fuga - Folonari shows a mature, measured profile. Its colour ranges from ruby to garnet; on the nose there are aromas of ripe red fruit, tertiary notes of woodland and subtle spice. On the palate it is balanced, with polished tannins and good depth; the finish is persistent, leaving traces of dark fruit and delicate spice. Overall an evolved wine that retains freshness and structure, offering elegance and character without extremes.

It pairs with red meat, game and aged cheeses, but can also stand up to richly sauced dishes; best served slightly cool relative to room temperature in larger-volume glasses to enhance its aromas. For storage, consider stable temperature and light conditions: timing the opening according to personal evolution and taste will allow you to best appreciate its nuances. Produced by Folonari, presented in a wooden case.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
